The charges are essentially references to the family’s ancestral links with Italy. The tinctures are those used in the arms of the City of Bari where the family originates while the dragon and tower allude to the family’s links with the nearby City of Tani where the family’s genealogical documents are archived. The three Florentine seeded fleurs-de-lys represent the three countries where the family has settled and the motto is a pun on the family surname as well as a personally held belief.
